Outdoor Kids' Shipping Policy

About Shipping Generally: Delivery of your package requires order processing time and shipping time (or delivery = processing + shipping). We strive to process and ship out your package within 1-2 business days after credit card approval. Then the delivery companies take over for shipping your order to you. D uring the peak of the holiday seasons and just before any 3-day weekend, it may take a couple of extra days to get your ground delivery order shipped. No orders are shipped on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, President's Day or any other federal holiday. We also cannot ship on weekends (Friday afternoons through Sunday night) because the shipping companies do not pick up on Saturdays or Sundays. Outdoor Kids® generally ships U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail for light items, FedEx Ground for heavy and large orders, and the best method available for expedited and international orders.

  • For USPS Priority Mail shipments , almost all packages arrive anywhere in the United States within 2-3 business days after shipping. We charge for USPS Priority Mail shipments based on ground domestic shipment rates listed below in our “Ground Domestic Shipment Policy.”
  • For FedEx Ground delivery, the shipping time depends on where you live relative to Outdoor Kids®. If you are located on the Pacific Coast, shipping generally takes 2 days. For Midwest States, ground delivery is 3-4 days. For East Coast shipments, ground delivery takes 5 business days. If an order is misrouted by a delivery company, the time can be greater. During holiday seasons or during a 3-day weekend, shipping will take longer. Please read our “Ground Domestic Shipment Policy” below for ground rates.
  • For Expedited Shipments (overnight, 2-day, 3-day) we ship either FedEx Express or USPS Express for expedited orders. Read our “Expedited Shipment Policy” below for details as to cost and transit time.
  • For International Shipments , we ship either UPS International or U.S. Global Priority. Please read our “International Shipment Policy” below for details as to cost and transit time.

Misrouted or Lost Expedited Packages: After your package leaves us and is transferred to a shipping company, we have no control over mistakes in routing. Human error can lead to misrouting of packages whether you select ground or expedited delivery. Because of this reality, we always encourage our customers to order early enough for sizing exchanges, misrouting of packages and other unforeseen circumstances. If your order is misrouted in transit, our staff we will gladly help locate the package and file claim paperwork for you with Federal Express. Federal Express will generally reimburse you for your actual expedited shipping costs if a package is lost or delayed in transit, but they do not reimburse you for having to purchase the items elsewhere, your time, your frustration or our staff's time. Only actual shipping charges are reimbursed if there is a problem in transit. Since our experience is that more mistakes are made routing expedited shipments than ground deliveries, we highly encourage you to order early so your shipping costs are reasonable!

1. Ground Domestic Shipment Policy (Domestic Rates within the USA)

For standard, ground shipping, rates are generally based on the total price of the items in your order. Orders totaling $150.00 and over are shipped by ground delivery for free within the continental United States!

For light weight items, we generally ship U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail . Our experience has been superb with the U.S. Postal Service. Even at the height of the holiday seasons, almost all packages arrive anywhere in the United States within 2-3 business days after shipping. However, U.S. Priority Mail delivery dates are not guaranteed so if you need your order by a date certain, either order early or look at our guaranteed expedited shipping options below. For heavy items such as jogging strollers, rain gear, boots and large orders, we ship FedEx Ground. For FedEx Ground, the shipping time depends on where you live relative to Outdoor Kids®. Your order should be delivered within 3-10 days after the shipping date. The closer you are to California, the faster the delivery time. If you are located on the Pacific Coast, shipping generally takes 2 days. For Midwest States, ground delivery is 3-4 days. For East Coast shipments, ground delivery takes 5 business days. If an order is misrouted by a delivery company, these times can be greater. During holiday seasons or during a 3-day weekend, shipping will take longer.

If an order totals over $150 but subsequently items are returned so your total order falls below $150, we will charge you for shipping based on the final order total and the shipping rates listed above.

We do not pay return shipping to us if you decide not to keep an item or need to exchange the size. Outdoor Kids ® does cover shipping back to you for exchanges. We think in terms of “sharing” the cost of exchanges with you. We encourage you to talk to us in advance if you have questions about sizing – it is much easier and less costly if the correct size is ordered initially versus having to return and exchange back and forth through the mail.

For Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico , we only ship USPS, and it generally takes 1-2 extra days for delivery, and the U.S. Postal Service does not guarantee delivery times for Priority Mail shipments. For orders under $150.00, we will charge you our standard ground delivery rates. For orders over $150, we will charge our actual costs to ship your order via U.S. Priority Mail based on the total weight of your package. For orders over $150, you will see a second charge for these additional shipping costs on your credit card statement. For APO, FPO, Military and Embassy Addresses : Outdoor Kids® gladly offers our products to our servicemen and women around the world. We ship these orders via U.S. Priority Mail, and for orders under $150.00, we will charge you our standard ground delivery rates. For orders over $150.00, there will be additional shipping costs based on the weight of your package. For orders over $150, you will see a second charge for these additional shipping costs on your credit card statement. Due to customs paperwork, it usually takes us a day longer than domestic shipments to get your order out the door on its way to the military post office. After that, delivery depends on where you are stationed around the world, and you will know the estimated time to reach your door far better than we can guess. The U.S. Postal Service does not guarantee delivery times for U.S. Priority Mail shipments so order early whenever possible! We can definitely put special messages on gifts to your families in the U.S. for you or on packages for the military stationed abroad. 2. Expedited Shipment Policy ( USA)

Do you need your order quickly? We can generally send orders overnight, 2-day or 3-day Air. Expedited shipping orders must be received at Outdoor Kids ® by 11:00 am Pacific Time/2:00 pm Eastern Time for same-day shipping. Orders received after 11:00 am Pacific Time/2:00 pm Eastern Time will be shipped the following business day. There is no shipping during weekends so expedited orders received Friday after 11:00 am Pacific/2 pm Eastern Time will not be shipped until the following business day. If the following business day is a Monday holiday, your order will be shipped on the following Tuesday.

Delivery companies charge extra for expedited shipments, and they base the rates on the weight of the order and the package dimensions. The larger and heavier the package, the more it costs for expedited shipping. You can select expedited shipping when you check out of the Outdoor Kids ® ' Website. Based on the number of items in your shopping cart, those items' weight and size, you will be quoted the expedited shipment costs at checkout.

3. International Orders

Shipping charges vary by country and weight. Please email or call for details. During the height of the holiday season, it is very difficult for us to ship international orders due to the extra paperwork required by customs and the need to give you personal shipping quotes. We encourage all international orders to be placed very, very early during the holiday season as transit time can be from a few days to several weeks depending on where your order is being shipped and customs delays. We will contact you with the shipping amount and insurance costs for your approval before charging your credit card. Outdoor Kids ® does not pay return shipping for international orders, and you will be charged additional shipping for exchanges so be sure to check our sizing charts before placing your international order. All applicable taxes and duty charges are paid by the recipient.. We require that all international orders are insured. Unfortunately, there are some countries where packages cannot be insured, and we cannot ship to those countries. Again, contact us by email for more information at service@outdoorkids.com .
